Purchasing Meals
Purchasing Meals:
Meals may be prepaid in advance by placing money in your child’s meal account.
Make Payments Online – Access our online payment processing system from our school’s website at www.district6.org, and click on the sidebar Quick Link Online Meal Payments. Here is how it works.
- Click on Online Meal Payments, click on your child’s school, click on “Add to Cart”, enter the amount you want to add to cart and proceed to check out or continue shopping for additional students.
- The first time you access PaySchool you will be asked to create a user name and password. After you log in, simply select the student’s accounts you wish to make a purchase on and then choose to pay by e-check or credit card.
- To add a student you must have student’s I.D. number. If you don’t know this number, contact either your child’s school or the Nutrition Service Office at 494-6912.
- To pay by e-check (directly debiting your bank account), you will enter your bank ABA routing number and personal bank account number.
- To make your purchase by credit card, enter the account number and expiration date for your Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card.
- After you complete your purchases, an email confirmation and receipt will immediately be sent to you. Lunch accounts will be updated within 48 hours. PaySchool uses Secure Sockets layer (SSL) software, requires passwords throughout the program, and does not store personal bank or credit card information to ensure privacy and security for users.
Bank-A-Meal (Elementary only) – This system of collecting money for breakfasts and lunches will continue. This system is convenient for you because you do not have to be concerned about searching for change every day to pay for your child’s meals. You also have the confidence that the money you send to school will be credited to your child’s account which can be used only for the purchase of meals. Here is how it works.
- Put your check or cash (a check is better) in the “Bank-A-Meal” envelope, seal it and fill in the blanks. Please use a separate envelope for each of your children.
- You or your child may bring the envelope to school and give to cashier located in the cafeteria in the morning before school.
- Using the information on the envelope the cashier in the cafeteria will credit your child’s account.
- When your child eats a meal (breakfast or lunch) the cost of that meal will be deducted from their account. If your child does not eat a meal because he is absent or brings his own lunch, his account is not charged for that day, and the money remains in the account for future use.
- When it is time to make another payment your child will be given a printed reminder in a Bank-A-Meal envelope or if you prefer to be contacted by email, please give cashier your email address.
We encourage you to deposit as much money as possible at one time because it will be easier for you and your child. To help you decide how much to send here are some examples.

* CPE, Jewett, Sams Valley and Patrick Elementary Schools have a no-cost breakfast for all students.
* The Oregon legislature recently provided funding to eliminate the reduced price payment for School Breakfast. Effective for the 2009-2010 school year, breakfast will be accessible at no charge to students who qualify for reduced price lunches.
- Purchase at any time from your school’s office, preferably before school in the morning.
- All schools use computers to track meal accounts. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school office or the Nutrition Services office at 494-6912
- Parents may choose to place restrictions on how their child’s meal account is spent: contact your school.
- Checks:Please make them out to your child’s school, with the child’s full name on the memo line.
- NSF Checks: If checks are returned twice due to non-sufficient funds, further meals will be on a cash basis.
- Cash: We encourage the exact amount as this will help the line move more quickly.
- Charges:There are NO charges at the middle and high school. After more than two unpaid charge, an elementary child may receive an alternative meal if no funds exist.
- Still Hungry:All students may purchase a second meal by paying the full meal price.
- Ala Carte: Entrees and many other items can be purchased individually.
- Adult Prices: Adults pay more for their meals because the district does not receive any federal reimbursement or commodity support for the meals they purchase.
